'Singing Bee' Picked Up For A Second Season!

Melissa Peterman re-signs as host, and 'The Singing Bee' will be back on CMT with 20 new episodes! The taping will start in January 2010. CMT has ordered a second season of its singing competition series The Singing Bee. The network has greenlit 20 episodes, double the first season order. New episodes will begin taping in November for premiere in January 2010. Melissa Peterman has also re-signed to host. The Singing Bee, which tests contestants' knowledge of song lyrics, has been a boon for CMT. Last June's premiere racked up the highest-rated series premiere in the network's history attracting 1.5 million total viewers and 771,000 in the 18-49 demographic, while the finale on Aug. 15 was the second-highest rated episode of the season. "The Singing Bee is irresistible musical fun and has proven to be an all-around winner for CMT," said CMT President Brian Philips, in a statement. "We were fortunate to find the perfect host in Melissa Peterman, an extraordinarily gifted comedienne, whom our audience has fallen madly in love with."

That show wouldn't be near as good without Mel! She is hilarious...I always look forward to her final countdown dance! Can't wait to see the new eppisodes!

Yeah, I would definitely rate the show, 0 without her in it. But because she's in the show, I rate it 1,000,000,003!

Haha yeah! She always says something funny when the contestants are getting boring.

I know. I'll just sit there, and then all of the sudden she says something funny! Lol. It makes me laugh all the time! "You have to sing the whole chorus word for word, perfectly, backwards, in French." LMAO!

Then I always love hearing her flirt with Scotty...only Mel would say some of the things she does...

I just left a message so I can audition and I can't wait! This is one of my favorite shows and I hope to be on it and win it! I have been in the karaoke world - singing, working for others, having my own company, etc. for 25 years now. I LOVE singing and doing karaoke, and I LOVE country muisc as well as showtunes and old time rock and roll. I know 90% of every song on the shows, and I have a great personality. Plus I can sing! I look forward to the audition, and I really look forward to meeting Melissa!
